  • Seek out the better tools, What's the better tools? For me this list is different for different uses, but for wandering/exploring these are my go to items)

    • Blood Extractor: Filter Extractor MK# (clearly MK 1 is less efficient than MK6 so get the best you can, but this handly little blood extractor is a possible lifesaver. Keep in mind you will need to have a bloodbag and a literjon with you always with this one! These unique schematic tools have the bonus of filtering some of the blood collected on the fly into water! That's right portable blood filtration on the go!

    • Bloodbags: Scipio's Bloodbag This is not the largest bloodbag, There may be more out there I haven't found however, but for now this one is my exploring go to. Grab a couple even. This one "withstands a high amount of reuse" that durability pays off in spades while exploring. The other ones I have seem to wear out faster and constantly needing to replace them is tedious. Don't discount the fact you can also make small ones on the fly if need be with materials that are usually handy all over the place!

    • Literjon: Decaliterjon This Literjon is huge, holding 10,000 ML of water. Perfect for use for dew reaping or long wandering sessions. It's also super useful for moving bases, and more. This unlike the rest in this list is not a unique schematic. So you can easily make several if you need to once you are at that tier of materials.

    • Dew reaper: Yes keep one with you, but in this case I really don't have a favorite yet.

  • Upgrade your tools first! Keep in mind they wear out and need repair or replacement but if you can get your hands on a higher level one (or unique ones) don't wait! the improvised blood extractor is a boon when you get it, and you can always in a pinch if your higher one breaks make one to tide you over. But it's smaller payoff for your work.

  • Use the right tool for the right purpose. Yeah it can be more complicated to have more than one set of tools, so if this tip isn't for you no harm there find the best set overall. For me, some tools are better in different situations. The blood extractor above for example is great for traveling it and my decaliterjon and bloodbags give me both water and blood as I go. Keeping the water source handy. But if I am gathering near my base I don't want to carry the extra so all things I don't need get left, In these cases, a tool that isn't going to waste water by spilling it if I have no literjon with me is better, it gives me more blood to process at home.

  • LOOK UP , DOWN, UNDER, OVER AND AROUND!!! DON"T MISS THE GOOD STUFF!!!!!!! Seriously, stop missing the good stuff. There are lots of place in caves, bases, and well everywhere! Seriously take a minute to slow down. This also goes for out in the wider world, Finding the camps has shown me that some of the spaces you don't expect to find one there might be a chest with amazing stuff in it!

  • Abiliites Matter! So regardless of what class you want to play, there are some abilities that are going to help you and possibly save you, consider opening other trees. If nothing else the Planetologist tree is full of amazing passive abilities that are super helpful!

  • Tools are Important past the ones above! Even if you don't want to fly around on suspensors and Shigawire consider at the very least getting a passive suspensor belt it can save you from dying in a fall.

  • Don't fall into a Keeping up with the neighbors mentality! Oh the neighbor just built a shiny MK5 Sandbike from all new parts! YAY for them! That's great and yet it may be a trap for you. If you don't have the excess materials to do that without shorting yourself or making it hard to upgrade more valuable items upgrading just the important pieces of that sandbike you have been using could give the benefit with much less resource use! The engine, power supply, storage all matter giving you increased speed, storage etc, but the MK2 treads you have now or MK1 chassis really don't offer less than the higher tier ones aside from the durability. So use them until you need to replace them and then look at what tier to build. Once you are securely in the top tier of resources and stock piling then go for it upgrade it all without hesitation but until then it may be less work and let you move up a tier eaiser to just upgrade the parts that really effect performance or efficiency!
